The Zoo

Noah catching a penguins attention.
We went to the Dallas zoo this weekend. This would be Noah's 2nd trip, and it was funny watching his mind get blown a few times.

Once he finally noticed the lizards and other creepy things moving around in their cages, he started looking for them. We also went into Lorikeet bird cage, and Noah was absolutely fascinated, especially when one landed on my head and another on my shoulder. I was terrified, but not the point.

The trip went pretty good. He got his freedom to walk around quite a bit, which he loves doing now. He finally did get worn out enough that he let us put him in his stroller. Victory!

OMG BIRDS!!!
There have been quite a few milestones that he's passed since I've posted last. I know I need to post more. I have no excuses.

We'll work backwards, maybe that'll help me remember things better.

It's been about a month since I was laying him down in his crib for the night, per our usual routine, and minutes later he comes strutting out.

"Mama? Daddy?"

Yeah, he'd climbed out of his crib, and that was the beginning of long month of night fights as he adjusted to his new toddler bed. Some nights were really bad, some he went right to sleep with no hassle. He was also very good about staying in his bed when he'd wake up in the middle of the night. He'd cry, but wouldn't leave the bed. I think that time is over now.

Couple days ago, he was fussing some around 3am or so, and when I got up to check on him, I found him laying in the hallway floor. Funny.

Then last night, he woke me up as he was crawling over me to get in our bed. Okay. So that's happening
Snake!
now.

Another thing that's happening now is we are allowing him into the kitchen more, supervised of course. Last week he went running in there and grabbed the paper towels. Jesse stopped him, telling him they weren't a toy, and Noah responded with, "Mess!"

So Jesse asked him to show him the mess, and sure enough, Noah brought him over to where he'd spilled a few drops of soda. So Noah got the paper towels and cleaned it up. Very cute!

And last week he gave me a flower.

There's so much more that he does, and has done. It's something cute on a daily basis, I wish I could record it all!.

My First Fort

I need to update this more often than once a month.

Anyway, 2 pretty big things happened yesterday.  We built Noah his first fort, and here are a few uploaded pictures of this cute little boy enjoying it.  At one point, the sheet got pulled down and he ran screaming to me pointing at it to fix it.
It was truly a panic worthy moment.

Then last night we were watching the movie The Campaign, (it was good for quite a few laughs) and we caught Noah doing one of the most amazing things I've seen him do so far.

He had gotten one of his diapers, and was trying to put the diaper on his puppy dog doll.  Then he would pick it up and cradle it against his shoulder, patted it's back and told it "Night Night."  He would walk around with it for a few seconds like that, then repeat the whole process. It was all very adorable.

Very Bad Baby

Here is the picture of a very bad baby. We went to Jesse's company picnic today, and it was an utter disaster. Noah went pure evil toddler on us, so we went ahead and left a bit early, then this happen before we even made it back to the highway.

Unstoppable Force Meets Immovable Object

Yeah, so see that cute little face? That's the face of a very ornery baby. Take a closer look, and you'll see the nice little booboo he picked up today. Yup, ran right into the love seat arm rest. He full on sprinted into that bad boy. I just saw this little blur go whizzing by me, and looked just in time to see impact and watch him BOUNCE off. I think he was crying before he hit the floor.

He's so clumsy, just like Mommy. Yeah, you're welcome for that, Noah. Your Daddy and Uncle Jared can tell you stories when you're older. Anyway, he ran into the bed headboard twice since then.

Totally looking forward to all the disapproving stares when we go out in public as strangers see the bruises and call CPS.

He Cannot Tell A Lie

Look at that face, he's way too cute to lie, right?
Well it's true. He's starting to respond with "No" when he really doesn't want something, or want to do something.

We can ask him if he wants to go Night Night.
"No"
Do you want a banana?
"No"
Can I have kisses?
"No"
Do you have poopy diapers?
"No"

Unless he is actually stinky. Then he just doesn't respond, he just takes off running. But at least he isn't lying about it.

Also, his obsession with Blue's Clues is growing. As soon as we walk in the door, he starts asking me "Blu? Blu?" And I have to put it on. Then the other day the PlayStation had an update, so I had to play it on the bedroom TV, and he went NUTS when he figured out it would play there too. When the PlayStation was finally done updating, and played it on both, and he was just running back and forth all excited for a bit.

Then Jesse played it for him on his phone. He brought me my iPad requesting for Blue to be played, and now he knows. Anything with a screen should be able to present him with his lovable little Blue. We may need an intervention here soon.

And here's another photo. We were running some errands and it was cutting into nap time, so we got him some chicken nuggets before we were gonna lay him down. 10 minutes later, this is what happened.

Strep

So Noah just got over his first real sickness, Strep Throat.  He came down with a temp of 102.7 last Thursday at about 3, so I got him from the sitters, gave him some tylenol and he perked right up.  Blamed it on teething.

Then on Friday, his fever was under control for the most part and he was just very clingy.  When Jesse got home, I had to run up to get Sierra and was in Sanger when Jesse called and his temp was up to 104.7.  =(  To the ER they went, and I got there about 8:30pm, straight from the road, didn't even swing by home.  He got diagnosed, and a RX, and we got out of there a little after 10pm.  Was a rough couple of days, but he's doing good now, back to normal.

It didn't slow down his cuteness though.  He learns a new word everyday now.

Today was "light" and he's full out "meowing" also.
Yesterday it was "really" when I was replied sarcastically to something, he said it right back.
Monday it was "bird" when some pigeons flew away as we were walking out of the mall.
Sunday was "ready" for when ever we ask him if he's ready to be picked up and he responds, and always giggles.
Saturday was "WHAT?" when everyone would get quiet, he'd just yell it out.
And he is saying "Thank You" when he gets handed something, or he's handing something to us.
Also "Blues Clues" and he's singing right along with the song, what words he can make out.

And of course, when he's sleepy, he starts singing the "baby" part of "Noah Baby."

I wonder what he'll learn tomorrow!

I'm Batman

So I've set my ringtone notification to say "I'm Batman" every time I get a text message.  Today, Noah has decided he needs to imitate it every time it goes off.

Here he is trying to say "I'm Batman"

My baby is awesome.

Hewwow?

Noah picks up the phone, and jabbers some.

Cheese and a Little Jig

So here's a short vid of Noah saying "Cheese" which he almost automatically does now when I hold my phone up to take his picture...  Then we were trying to get him to show off his dance moves which he only KINDA did.  Guess he just wasn't in a dancing mood tonight.

Also, he's learned out to drink through a straw, yay!!

Noah's "Swimming" Pictures

Here are some of the pictures from Noah's first day in his pool. I think his facial expressions show how much fun he had in it.
